Time Warner Cable News Division Selects Notice Software For Mobile Apps Provider

Portland, OR -- Today Time Warner Cable News Division and Notice Software announced a deal to release iPhone and Android applications for the TWC news stations.

Time Warner Cable News Division has teamed with Notice Software to provide smartphone applications that provide a great branding experience for the Time Warner news stations with a superior feature set.

"When our news group was looking to enter the mobile app world, we knew we needed an experienced partner in order to meet all our requirements," Time Warner Cable News Division director of online development Todd Callahan said. "We chose Notice Software because their applications offer us the flexibility we needed to jump into the market with a unique product, but also gives us room to grow. We didn't want to look the same as other television stations because our news channels aren't like other TV stations."

The mobile applications will deliver news station content to their viewers on the phone. It will allow users to be notified of breaking news via push notifications, search for specific content items, read full articles, and watch video. Notice Software and Time Waner Cable News Division see this as just the beginning of the features to come in the apps. "Besides being able to offer a different news app with features like tag cloud searches and easily letting our users send us story ideas, we got to be part of the process. Working with Notice allowed us to join in during the development stage and help create a custom app. We have lots of ideas for where we go next with our apps and it's good to have Notice help us get there," Callahan said.

Availability:

The iPhone applications for News 10 Now in Syracuse, Your News Now in Rochester, Your News Now in Buffalo, and Captial News 9 in Albany are available now in the iTunes app store. Android applications for these stations will be available shortly. The rest of the TWC news stations apps will be rolled out over the next two months.
